4. It is best to start measuring the length of the canal using a K-file file no. 10-15 (corresponding to the diameter of the root canal in its apical part). When taking the following measurements, use a larger diameter file.
5. The length of the canal must be marked on the file with a limiter.
6. Remove dental filings, filling material and eliminate obliteration of the canal opening before measurement.
7. Take into account the fact that with a wide apical opening, the apex measurement result is underestimated (lower).

8. Make sure that the working parts of the apex locator do not touch the metal crowns on adjacent teeth.

9. Keep mobile devices away from the apex locator while in use.

10. Do not use in patients with a pacemaker.

Please remember that the first measurement is often the most accurate. Unfortunately, when working with curved channels, it will be necessary to repeat the measurements. The presence of additional channels may affect the accuracy of the apex readings. The endometer will react to a root perforation or fracture in the same way as to an apical hole.
